Byron Farmers' Market Second Year Opening Saturday, May 5

After months of planning, our second regular farmers' market season will open with vendors selling flowers, asparagus, and other early season crops. 

Community Wellness Connection is happy to be meeting its goals of contributing to the health and wellness of our community with healthy, locally-grown food, of supporting local farmers and of providing an opportunity for community interaction.

The Byron Farmers' Market will be open every Saturday, 8 am - 1 pm, from May 5 through October 13, 2007 in the heart of Byron Center (8350 Byron Center Avenue, in the parking lot at Pathway Ministries).  We hope to see you there!

New Equipment for Byron Skate Park

A final order for the remainder of the equipment for the skate park has been placed and will soon be available. 

We are also negotiating with a skilled individual to instuct skateboarders who want help in learning new skills.  For a start this will be offered one day a week for two to three hours.  We are also examining the possibility of developing a skate park team that could enter into competition with teams from other skate parks.

Health and Wellness Training and Educational Opportunities

A new program board has been developed by Community Wellness to focus on medical education and training.  While still in the planning stages, we intend to make available workshops on a number of crititcal health topics such as heart health, asthma, vision problems, and many others.  As a focal point of these individual workshops we are planning to have a one or two day health fair at a site in our region.
